CreatorHub emerged directly from the success of GoChamp, a custom mobile fitness app built for world champion boxer Ivan Baranchyk. While GoChamp was a powerful standalone product, CreatorHub was engineered to transform that proven concept into a scalable, white-label platform for any content creator. Our vision was to turn successful content strategies into a repeatable system, enabling creators to launch their own branded apps without needing developers or technical teams.
The Challenge: From Single App to Scalable Platform
The primary challenge was to evolve GoChamp from a bespoke fitness app into a versatile, multi-vertical platform capable of serving diverse creators. This involved tackling several key hurdles:
- Scalability: Transforming a single-purpose app into a platform adaptable for various content types and creators.
- Modularity vs. Personalization: Removing brand-specific features while retaining the flexibility for unique branding and content.
- Intuitive Backend: Designing an admin system that was both user-friendly and robust enough to meet varied creator needs.
- Market Positioning: Positioning CreatorHub as a creator-first, direct monetization alternative to reliance on third-party platforms.
- Infrastructure Adaptability: Building a product infrastructure capable of supporting creators across fitness, music, education, and other diverse fields.
Our ultimate goal was to build a reusable, modular product that empowers creators to own their distribution channels and monetize content directly through custom apps. CreatorHub had to feel deeply personalized for each creator, yet be simple enough to onboard without continuous hands-on product involvement.
The Strategy: Modular Design & Creator-Centric Discovery
My strategy began with a thorough audit of GoChamp’s architecture to pinpoint features tightly coupled to Ivan’s brand. Working closely with engineering, we then abstracted these components into customizable modules—covering content types, paywalls, scheduling, and user flows. This allowed for customization via admin settings rather than requiring code changes for every creator.
To ensure CreatorHub truly met diverse needs, I initiated a round of discovery interviews with creators from various niches, including combat sports, dance, chess, and music. Their invaluable feedback directly informed crucial decisions regarding admin design, onboarding flows, and app-level customization.
We developed CreatorHub with a role-based CMS, dynamic branding capabilities, and templated flows that could be easily swapped based on content type. This approach allowed us to deliver a product that was flexible enough for creators while remaining efficient to launch and maintain at scale, preventing system bloat.
The Outcome: New Partnerships & Repeatable Success
CreatorHub is currently engaged in partnership discussions with three new creators across distinct industries. Each conversation was significantly bolstered by the success of GoChamp and Ivan Baranchyk’s credibility as a champion-turned-product-ambassador. Our modular platform now enables us to pitch new creators with a fully built backend, streamlined onboarding playbooks, and the confidence to tailor the product without having to start from scratch each time.
Key Learnings: Customization Without Reinvention
The most significant learning from this white-labeling journey was that the true challenge isn’t just in the code; it’s in building a product that feels custom without reinventing the wheel for every new client.
This experience reinforced several core principles:
- Templates and modules offer crucial flexibility without leading to scope creep.
- Admin usability is as vital as the end-user experience for platform adoption.
- Authentic creator feedback serves as the best validator for roadmap decisions.
- A strong initial use case, like GoChamp, can become the most compelling sales tool for future products and partnerships.
